The long and winding queue
To the food bank going past my door
Do you think it is something
I'm responsible for?

When he asked for more
With begging bowl in hand
In the long winding queue
I've left them standing there
A long, long time you know
Why don't they get a job
And stop being poor
Many times I've looked at them
And wonder if they've tried
To seek employment and for enjoyment
Just got on their bikes
And still they lead me back
To the long winding queue
They are still standing there
What's a tory to do?
I'll just leave them waiting there
I can't give them more
